3 Myths about getting older and why 50 is the New 30

When you're young, all you can think about is getting older. You can't wait to be "mature" and have your life figured out. But as you get older, you realize that there's so much more to life than just ticking off the boxes on a list. Age isn't as important as we make it out to be - it's all about self-realization and living a happy life. And believe it or not, 50 can feel like the new 30... If you let it.

HBO star Mary Catherine Garrison came on LOL with Kim Gravel to talk about her career in Hollywood and how she manifested her dream job in her late 40s. She is proof that age is just a number when it comes to success, and dreams are still within reach no matter how old you are!

Mary Catherine's story encourages us to seek out what else is out there and anticipate it as you approach any age. I'm here to debunk some false assumptions regarding one's 50th birthday.

Myth One: You can't find love after the age of 50.

If you're single and over 50, it's easy to think that you're out of the dating game for good. But that's not true! There are plenty of ways to meet someone new, whether it's through online dating sites, social media, or good old-fashioned face-to-face interaction. It's never too late to find the love of your life. Make sure to remember that the most essential thing is to be in love with yourself, and everything else will follow.

Myth Two: No one will hire you for you dream job at the age of 50.

This is simply not true. The job market has changed drastically in recent years, and employers are now more open to hiring older workers for positions that were traditionally reserved for younger people. So, if you've always wanted to be a writer, an artist, or anything else, don't let your age stop you from applying for the job of your dreams.

Myth Three: You're too old to be hot at the age of 50.

You might think that the only thing hot about turning 50 is hot flashes, but the truth is, age is just a number when it comes to attractiveness. You can be 50 and still be the hottest person in the room - it all depends on how you feel about yourself. If you're confident and happy with who you are it will show on the outside.

Remember age is nothing but a number, and it's never too late to achieve your dreams. So go out there and show the world what you're made of!
